This day

Twenty five kilometres from Tours in the heart of a large wooded area, come and visit a living château, inhabited by the same family since 1728. Built in the Renaissance and embellished in the eighteenth century, the Château de Champchevrier is protected by a moat which is still filled with water today. Kings Louis XIII and Louis XI came hunting in the traditional game reserve. The old kitchens with their impressive collection of brass and the sumptuously furnished ceremonial rooms, will surprise you with their rich decoration, Regency furniture, and the exceptional series of tapestries from the seventeenth century. Champchevrier is both a remarkable historical monument and a lively family château in which each generation has contributed its love and respect for heritage. The visit is an unforgettable journey from past to present, a trip between nature and culture where still-living traditions guide your steps.
